The Zombie Diaries

Russell Jones, Craig Stovin and Jonnie Hurn

Plot
Set In the early part of the 21st Century, an unknown virus has engulfed the planet within weeks. This virus effectively reanimates the corpse of the host after their death, turning them into a zombie. The planet becomes infested with the undead but where this movie differs from the standard zombie film is it is presented as three video diaries. These diaries chart the early days of the plague and go right through to the last days of the apocalypse.
The first diary follows a documentary crew travelling the countryside to make a movie about the virus. The team are caught up in the outbreak and end up sheltering in a nearby wood. The second video diary follows a husband and wife escaping London and scavenging the remnants of dead towns. The diary charts a group of survivors fleeing to an old farm to seek refuge, only to find themselves under siege from the creatures that attack them in the night.
The diaries are filmed through the eyes of those ‘who were there’ as it were giving this effect using ‘camcorder’ style filming and occasional ‘night vision’ shots.
